| The
Family Hönig Quartet was founded by Sylva and Jaromír Hönig
on the platform of the Pardubice Conservatoire in 1995. After their
children (Silvie and René) had completed their studies, the original
duo became a trio and fi nally a quartet. The unusual and interesting
cast of three flutes and a piano or harpsichord gives the ensemble
a touch of originality and sound variety that inclines towards chamber
tone, using the noble sound of flutes enhanced by the harpsichord
register. The characteristic sound of the ensemble combined with
mostly baroque music is made even more impressive by the local chateau
halls where the musicians often perform. The delicacy of the sound
in such a beautiful environment creates a unique atmosphere.
Sylva, Silvie, Jaromír and René (conservatoire and JAMU academy
graduates) are currently involved in musical education professions
in the city of Pardubice. This region dominates their concert schedule,
but they perform around the country and abroad too.
All members of FHQ play Yamaha brand instruments (including the
harpsichord, where the fi ne register of a digital instrument is
often used). The ensemble collaborates with the CMI Melodia a.s.
Hradec Králové company, which is an exclusive distributor of Yamaha
brand instruments in the Czech Republic.
Sylva Hönigová (piano, harpsichord) graduated

the JAMU academy in Brno (Prof. A. Bourek) after her studies at
the Pardubice Conservatoire (Mgr. J. Hönig). She was awarded several

in France.
René Hönig (flute) graduated from the Pardubice
Conservatoire (Mgr. J. Hönig) as the orchestra soloist (Mozart)
and apart from his pedagogic activities he is a solo and chamber
player and successful manager and moderator.
